Privacy Policy
Last updated May 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how OmniEV ("OmniEV," "we," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you interact with the OmniEV charging network, mobile and web applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
OmniEV is currently in early access. This document is a working baseline written in plain language. We will replace it with an attorney-reviewed version before broad commercial launch. If anything here is unclear, email support@omniev.io.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Account information
When you create an OmniEV account — whether by email/password or by signing in with Google or Apple — we collect your name, email address, and the unique identifier provided by the identity provider. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.
1.2 Charging session data
When you start a charging session, we collect the charger identifier, the connector you plugged into, the start/stop timestamps, energy delivered (kWh), and the calculated session cost. We use this both to bill the session and to operate the network (uptime, fault detection, capacity planning).
1.3 Payment data
Payment methods and transactions are processed by our payment processor, Ryst. We do not store full payment card numbers on OmniEV systems. We retain only the last four digits and the card brand for display in your wallet.
1.4 Device and usage data
We log standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, request timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and to debug failures. These logs are retained on a rolling basis and are not used to build an advertising profile.
1.5 Vehicle telematics (optional, future)
If you choose to connect your vehicle via a supported telematics provider (e.g., Smartcar), we will collect the data points you authorize — typically state-of-charge, range estimate, and charging status. You can disconnect this integration at any time.
2. How we use information
- To create and operate your OmniEV account.
- To start, monitor, bill, and complete charging sessions.
- To send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, account notices).
- To maintain network uptime and to detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertising networks.
3. Service providers
We share information with a small number of vendors who process data on our behalf:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, databases, and authentication.
- Ryst — payment processing and operator settlement.
- Google and Apple — federated sign-in (only when you choose to use them).
- Mapbox — maps in the driver app.
- Email transactional providers — to deliver verification codes and receipts.
4. Data retention
Account information is kept for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we retain charging-session and payment records as long as required for tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes — typically seven (7) years. Request logs are kept on a rolling 90-day basis.
5. Your choices
- Access & correction. You can view your profile and edit your name in the driver app. Email support@omniev.io to request a copy of your data.
- Deletion. Email support@omniev.io to delete your account. We will remove personal information except records required to be retained under section 4.
- Marketing. OmniEV does not send marketing email today. If we add a marketing list, you will be able to opt out from any such email.
6. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, including TLS in transit, encryption at rest, scoped access controls, and Cognito-managed authentication. No system is perfectly secure; please report any security concerns to support@omniev.io.
7. International users
OmniEV is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the U.S. and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.
8. Children
OmniEV is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when this policy changes. Material changes will also be announced in the driver app or by email.
